  1. Human Services Block Grant Public Hearing, Westmoreland County Children's Bureau Budget

    May 31, 2017, 5:00 PM @ Westmoreland County Courthouse

    Dirk Matson, Coordinator for Westmoreland County Human Services, will present the Human Services Block Grant at two Public Hearings (Tuesday , May 30th and Wednesday, May 31st), and is asking for input from stakeholders and citizens of Westmoreland County. Subsequent written comments, for the HS Block Grant will be accepted from the public through June 1, 2017 at 2 North Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601. In compliance with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dept. of Public Welfare, Office of Children, Youth & Families Regulations, a Public Meeting on the Westmoreland County Children & Youth 2017-18 Implementation Plan and 2018-19 Needs Based Budget is being held. Subsequent written comments will be accepted from the public for the NBPB through August 11, 2017, at 40 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 310, Greensburg, PA. Addie Beighley, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer; Dirk Matson, Director of Juvenile Detention/Shelter; Shara Saveikis, Director of Children’s Bureau.

  2. Reimagining Our Westmoreland Priority Issues Workshop

    May 31, 2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Westmoreland County Community College, Science Hall

    Residents are welcome and encouraged to attend a Priority Issues Workshop to provide input for the Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of this workshop is to identify possible goals and actions that address the primary issues in Westmoreland County that arose during the first phase of the planning process, including: Population Growth & Retention, Transportation, Business Retention & Attraction, Main Streets & Neighborhoods, Shared Services & Regional Decision Making, Livability/Quality of Life, and Land Use Regulations & Development. The workshop will also identify metrics that can be used to measure the County’s progress in meeting these goals.
