POW/MIA Chair of Honor dedicated at courthouse

A permanent reminder of the service men and women who were prisoners of war or never returned home was dedicated Thursday at the Westmoreland County Courthouse.
An empty black chair flanked by United States and Pennsylvania flags, along with banners for prisoners of war and those missing in action, was situated in the front corner of the courthouse lobby. Read more...

They are names on a wall of polished black granite, some 58,000 of them.
When it opened in 1982, visitors to the wall saw their own reflections intertwined with the engraved names of American service members who died in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
