[ARCHIVED] Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program

Property Tax/Rent Rebate season has begun for your 2012 rebate.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate forms and assistance are available at no cost from the Department of Revenue district office, local Area Agencies on Aging, senior centers and state legislator’s offices. A company has been contacting older Pennsylvanians by mail offering to prepare applications for a fee, but remember applications and assistance are always free at the above locations.

The program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 yearly for renters and half of social security income is excluded. Rebates vary depending on your income, taxes or rental amounts. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2013.
