The Local Task Force (LTF) is a committee of concerned and active parents, community members, and educators, brought together to collaboratively ensure that all children with disabilities in Westmoreland County receive the supports and services they need to be successful in the least restrictive environment.
Who Can Attend Meetings and Activities?
Any interested educator, community member, agency staff, person, or parent of a student with a disability or special need may attend any of the regularly scheduled Local Task Force meetings. It is not necessary to be a member to attend, and no advance notice is necessary ….You are always welcome!
Where and When are the Meetings?
Currently meetings are offered both virtually via Zoom and in person at Westmoreland Intermediate Unit (as allowable per COVID guidelines). We have meetings six times per school year. Some meetings are during the daytime, and some are during the evening.
What Happens at the Meetings?
We have a speaker at almost every meeting. The topics are based on parent preference and feedback. We also discuss current events, legislation, concerns and issues, and other topics related to school-age children with disabilities.
