Attention All County Employees,
Please be advised that some COVID regulations are still in place for Westmoreland County. Emergency leave regulations are still required for all employees in need of a COVID-related leave. If an employee needs to call-off for anything COVID-related, such as symptom presentation, exposure, testing of self/live-in-family member, or quarantine by a medical professional, please call county call-off to indicate a COVID-related call-off and then email firstname.lastname@example.org . You are required to complete both steps. When emailing emergency leave, you are to provide as much information as possible including your name, department, reason for call-off, if you have been tested and if results are still pending, and/or if you have been exposed. You will also be required to show proof of testing and results as well.
Once you contact the emergency leave email, you will be given guidance on your specific situation. All guidance is based upon CDC and PA Department of Heath guidelines.
All leaves regarding COVID are considered an EFMLA, and they follow the same guidelines as an FMLA leave, so accrued time will be used.
Please remember, if you are showing any symptoms at all, it is best to stay home and get tested. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, stuffy/runny nose, cough, sore throat, fever, chills, headache, loss of taste or smell, etc. A full list is available at List of COVID symptoms. It is also recommended to wear a mask if there is any probability of exposure. If you are questioning when to wear a mask, please refer to the CDC masking guidance, CDC Mask Guidance.
