A Certified Recover Specialist (CRS) is an individual with personal, lived experience in their own recovery. The CRS completes required training and certification and receives support from the CRS supervisor.
This Pennsylvania Certified Board approved program is a credential for individuals with personal, lived experience in their own substance use disorder recovery. By offering insight into the recovery process based on their own experience, recovery specialists are able to provide a unique perspective to those with similar life experiences. The role of the CRS is collaborative and strength-based, with the primary goal of assisting individuals in achieving sustained recovery. The CRS supports the person to find their own individual path to recovery.
This 78-hour program consists of 66 hours of in-person training and 12 hours of online portal training. After successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to take a certification exam and become a Certified Recovery Specialist. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00 p.m. starting on September 3rd.
