Westmoreland County BHDS is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill two vacant Program Specialist I positions in our children's area.
The Children’s Mental Health Program Specialist positions are primarily responsible for the administrative oversight of mental health programs that serve children with serious emotional disturbances, and also work closely with the county child serving systems of child welfare, education, drug/alcohol and/or juvenile justice. The nature of the work includes the assessment of needs for programs and services in the county; program development and/or expansion; technical assistance and support to providers; annual review of programs including policies, procedures, records; and review of program contracts and budgets. These positions also serve as ad hoc members for various community organizations; this may include organizing and facilitating meetings, trainings, and development of groups to work on identified county needs related to children’s mental health services.
Qualifications:

- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health and a Bachelor's degree; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
Candidates must reside in Westmoreland County or be willing to relocate to Westmoreland County within 180 days of hire.
