[ARCHIVED] Support our parks & trails at the March for Parks on March 27

March for Parks 2021 newsflash

The 19th annual March for Parks fundraising event is taking a new approach this year! Due to pandemic precautions, we aren't able to host the traditional event in two locations with festivities and food. Instead, there will be a more widespread opportunity to support our 10 Westmoreland County parks and 5 trails on Saturday, March 27. Click here to register!

We will have 9 registration locations around Westmoreland County for participants to check-in with their donations on March 27:

  • Twin Lakes Park (Greensburg)
  • Mammoth Park (Mt. Pleasant)
  • Northmoreland Park (Apollo)
  • Cedar Creek Park (Belle Vernon)
  • Bridgeport Dam Park (Mt. Pleasant area)
  • Westmoreland Heritage Trail - Export
  • Westmoreland Heritage Trail - Murrysville
  • Ann Rudd Saxman Nature Park (Donohoe Road, Greensburg)
  • Historic Hanna's Town (Greensburg)

On March 27, marchers (and their dogs) can check-in with their donations at one of the locations listed above any time between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., pick up their t-shirts or doggie bandanas if they turn in $30 or more, and then march/walk/explore at their convenience. You can also donate online when you pre-register; online donations are made through PayPal (you do not need to have a PayPal account to donate; just an email address!). If you cannot attend the event in person on March 27, you can pick up your t-shirt at Parks office in Greensburg. Please check the appropriate box when you register online.

While the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic is causing difficult and challenging times for everyone, our parks and trails have been busier than ever! Getting outside is a great way to strengthen our immune systems and improve our health and wellbeing. We have done our best to make our facilities safe and accessible during this time, and a place to go when there weren’t many places to go. Safety is our priority, and preventative measures like social distancing are easy to do while enjoying our parks and trails.
