Michael Ginsburg, Westmoreland County Register of Wills uncovered a major issue that may affect couples who were married by former District Judge, Raymond Tubbs between the years of 1974 to 1989. Magistrate Tubbs’ failure to file these documents with the Register of Wills does not mean you are not married, it means there is no official record. We have found there is a “one in seven” chance your marriage is not recorded by this office.

We urge you to contact the Westmoreland County Register of Wills office to confirm that your marriage is officially recorded. You will need a certified copy of your license for various death benefits.
