[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Westmoreland County Parks

COVID-19 related update

Effective June 5, 2020, Westmoreland County moves to the green phase of Governor Wolf’s Plan to Reopen PA. The green phase is the least restrictive phase of the plan and allows the county operated park playgrounds to be re-opened and allows pavilion rentals and organized sports reservations to resume. Please be aware that the green phase does prohibit large gatherings over 250 people. While we have already had to cancel events and programs through June and with the prohibition of large gatherings over 250 people, it appears that we may need to cancel our remaining annual events until either the green phase ends or the prohibition is lifted. We will continue to update our site with the most current guidance.

In addition, the county park maintenance workers have been recalled from furlough, restrooms and other facilities have re-opened and trash is being collected. The boathouse at Twin Lakes Park will remain closed until the remaining furloughed park staff is recalled.

The Westmoreland County Parks Department reminds visitors to continue to practice social distancing, wash or sanitize your hands often, do not touch your face, cover your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze and if you feel ill, please do not come to the park or use the trails. We thank you for your patience during this difficult time as we worked through all of the changes and guidance.

Stay safe and stay healthy!
