The Court of Common Pleas has developed a procedure for the presentation of a motion for release of low level adult criminal court offenders and pre-sentence incarcerated inmates having served the majority of a negotiated plea and offenders at high risk of infection or death due to exposure to COVID-19.  This procedure is being implemented in light of the pandemic and the number of petitions/requests that the criminal court of common pleas is receiving for the release of low level offenders.  Please read the procedure to follow for presenting motions which is available on the Court Administrator’s webpage at www.co.westmoreland.pa.us.
