Westmoreland County Parks events cancelled for April, May, and June

The Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks & Recreation, with a reduced workforce, and in adherence with Federal & State COVID 19 guidance of limiting gatherings to less than 10 people, has decided to cancel the following programs and events:

  • Mammoth Park Free Fishing Derby, scheduled for April 26
  • Senior Games, scheduled for May 5 -15
  • Northmoreland Park Free Fishing Derby, scheduled for May 17
  • All Summer Environmental Programs and Camps for Kids
  • Mammoth Fest at Mammoth Park on Sunday, June 7
  • Twin Lakes Park Fishing Derby, scheduled for Sunday June 21 (please note just the derby is cancelled, the lake is still open for fishing)

In addition, all facility reservations have been cancelled for the months of April and May.

Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to protect the health and safety of everyone in our community. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold these events, but we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make additional changes as needed.

For more information, please contact the Bureau of Parks and Recreation at 724-830-3950.
