[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Westmoreland County Parks

Parks Color logo

As of 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020, all park facilities, gates, and restrooms will be closed to the public until further notice. We recommend people not visit our parks during this time. We will update as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Please be aware that the county parks will not be staffed until further notice as the county has enacted a limited workforce plan for employee safety and social distancing as recommended by the Federal & State agencies. We recommend that county residents practice social distancing in the parks as we have decided to leave the county parks open. Please remember that the parks are not staffed and therefore we need to keep the restrooms closed for sanitary purposes and that any trash will not be picked up during this time.

UPDATE 3/27/20 3:45pm
Westmoreland County makes the health and well-being of our employees, residents and visitors a top priority. The County is asking visitors to its County parks and trails to follow CDC guidelines and the recommendations of Governor Wolf regarding COVID-19. This would include the following:

Do not gather in groups.
Avoid playgrounds and other areas where groups may form.
Keep 6 feet between you and others at all times.
Leave any area where you cannot maintain a 6-foot distance.
Carry water, hand sanitizer, and disinfectiung wipes.
Do not touch your face.
Wash your hands often with soap and water or sanitize your hands frequently.
Cover your mouth and nose if you cough or sneeze.
If you have any symptoms of illness, stay home and do not come to the parks or use the trails.

Please remember that the parks are not staffed and therefore we need to keep the restrooms closed for sanitary purposes and that any trash will not be picked up during this time. Please take any trash with you when you leave. As always, this is a fluid and evolving situation. What may be current today, may change depending on future guidelines issued by the CDC as it pertains to parks.
