COVID-19 related update

Corona Virus Update 5/15/2020

Residents, Staff, Families, and Visitors

With the Coronavirus Pandemic constantly evolving, Westmoreland Manor has put many protective measures in place to provide the safest care for your loved ones. Our highest priority is to protect our staff and residents, as we consider your loved ones to be family. Our current precautions include screening our staff at the beginning and end of their shift as well as monitoring the residents three times a day for fever and other potential COVID symptoms. We continue to have heightened disinfecting processes with our dedicated housekeeping staff and our Activities department continues to provide individual recreation activities for our residents during this time.

As of Friday, 5/15/2020, Westmoreland County transitioned to the yellow phase. Unfortunately, this  does not mean that Westmoreland Manor’s visiting restrictions have changed. We remain on a NO VISITOR policy for our facility. There still remains no indication of any exposure at this time. The only visitation we are accepting at this time are the families of our end of life residents, which is determined by their physician on a case by case basis. One immediate family member will be allowed in the facility at a time. This person will need screened by a Nursing Supervisor and a temperature will be obtained. They must also wear the appropriate personal protective equipment that will be provided by the facility. They will then be escorted to their loved ones room by a staff member.

All of our staff members continue to follow public health recommendations to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. These include strict handwashing procedures and wearing facemasks at all times while in the facility, as well as the use of gowns and gloves when interacting with residents who are sick.
