Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation is planning a Progressive Grand Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting of the new Turtle Creek Extension of the Westmoreland Heritage Trail on Saturday, August 17. The fourth phase of the Trail consists of 3.3 miles from Murrysville to Export. Ceremonies will start at the Robert’s Trail Access in Murrysville at 10:30 am. Guests are invited to ride their bikes along the Trail to Lincoln Avenue in Export, where we will have another ceremony at 12:00 pm, in conjunction with the Export Ethnic Food and Music Festival. All times are approximate.
Parking is limited at the Roberts Trail Access and downtown Export, so we are asking guests to park at the Murrysville Community Center, the Branthoover Cut-off jug handle beside Leone Pet Supplies, Meier’s Ace Hardware, Howard Hanna Murrysville Real Estate plaza at 4115 William Penn Highway (shuttle will be available), or other trail heads along the trail. Please ride your bike or walk to the Robert’s Trail Access for the ceremony!
We hope to make this a fun and exciting celebration for all! View the invitation for more details and information.
