[ARCHIVED] County to host diaper drive Dec. 7th

Baby in towel

Did you know? One in three American moms struggles to provide clean diapers for her children.  Food stamps and WIC don’t cover diapers and families often are forced to make tough decisions regarding day care and employment because they can’t afford diapers.

Westmoreland County is hosting a diaper drive on Friday, Dec. 7th, at the County Courthouse. Diapers for infants or adults, period supplies, and cash donations will be accepted by the Park Police front desk at 2 N Main Street, Greensburg, PA  15601.  All donations will benefit families right here in Westmoreland County.

Government programs do not specifically fund or provide diapers. The Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank is the only regional nonprofit organization focused solely on the distribution of diapers to families of low-income or poverty. The Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank (WPDB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. They are an affiliate of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), a nonprofit organization established in 2012. The NDBN is dedicated to ensuring every baby in the United States can be clean, dry and healthy.
