What is the March for Parks?
The March for Parks is a fun event to raise money for new park & trail projects in Westmoreland County. Marchers can collect donations individually or as a team of 3 or more. Organize friends & family, coworkers, and churchgoers, and march for your company, school, community organization, or in memory of a loved one. Turn in all donations the day of the March and be eligible for great prizes! Even if you prefer not to march, there will be lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy—booths & exhibits, kids activities, raffle items, music, games, snacks, and more! Online registration will open in January 2019.
How does the March for Parks help?
The 2019 March for Parks will be dedicated to raising funds for the “new” Mammoth Park Giant Slide and extending the Westmoreland Heritage Trail from Murrysville to Export, so we need your help on March 30! Money raised at the March for Parks helps to provide matching funds for state and private foundation grants, and your participation shows the grassroots support for our Parks. Your donations will help close the gap on remaining project funds and will help build the “new” Giant Slide and extend the Westmoreland Heritage Trail!
