Bring your pups and celebrate the grand opening of the Cedar Creek Dog Park and other improvements on Wednesday, September 26 at 11:30 a.m.!

Cedar Creek Dog Park Grand Opening, September 26

The grand opening ceremony for the recently completed Cedar Creek Dog Park will take place on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 beginning at 11:30am. The event is open to the public and no RSVP is required. Dogs are also welcome to attend!

The Cedar Creek Dog Park has four separate fenced in areas – two for big dogs and two for small dogs. Each of the big dog areas is similar in size to half a football field. As a general rule, two sections will be open at a time, with the other two closed for maintenance and turf regrowth. There is a water fountain and clean-up station in each section. In addition, there is a six-foot chain link fence surrounding all sections and a double gated entrance system.

The Cedar Creek Dog Park is the first part of a multi-phase rehabilitation project of Cedar Creek Park. Other Phase One improvements include renovations to Pavilion 1, new access roads, parking and a multi-purpose field, ADA-compliant walkways connecting facilities, landscaping and replacement of shade trees. Phase Two projects are planned to include a destination playground, winter sports area for sledding and tubing, a new pavilion and restroom along the Youghiogheny River and Great Allegheny Passage, and improved ADA accessibility. Construction of Phase Two will begin in fall 2019.

Cedar Creek Park is located in Rostraver Township off Route 51, one-quarter mile north of I-70.
