Effective July 2, 2018, the Prison will begin photocopy in black and white, all incoming articles of mail.
Effective July 2, 2018, Policy S-470, Mail and Incoming Publications, shall be amended to provide that the Prison will begin photocopying in black and white, all incoming articles of mail (letters, drawings, greeting cards and photographs, etc. with the exception of privileged correspondence (legal) and incoming publications permitted in accordance with Policy S-470. The photocopies will then be distributed to the inmate. Incoming letters shall be limited to no more than three (3) pages, front and back, and written in blue or black ink or typed.
The original photographs will be placed with the inmate’s stored belongings to be returned to the inmate when released or transferred from the Westmoreland County Prison. All other articles of incoming mail that have been copied will be destroyed.
Any incoming letter of correspondence that does not meet criteria will be rejected and returned to the sender.
