WESTMORELAND COUNTY ISSUES DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY

Westmoreland County has been, and continues to be, adversely impacted by extreme amounts of precipitation that occurred from February 15, 2018 to April 20, 2018. The Westmoreland County Board of Commissioners executed a Declaration of Disaster Emergency for Westmoreland County today May 30, 2018.

Public infrastructure throughout Westmoreland County, an amount that far exceeds the budget capabilities of the affected municipalities, causing a recommendation to be made to the PEMA Director to have the Governor of Pennsylvania submit a written request to the President for a Presidential Disaster Declaration.
