Twin Lakes, Mammoth, Northmoreland, Bridgeport Dam, and Chestnut Ridge County Parks will open at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 for the first day of trout season.
All parking areas and gates will be closed until that time. No one is permitted to stay in the parks overnight. Night fishing permits are also suspended for Friday April 13, 2018. Anyone in the County Parks between 9:00 p.m. on Friday April 13, 2018 and 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 will be cited. Also, there is to be no fishing at Mammoth Park until April 14, and catch and release only at Twin Lakes Park until April 14. Overnight camping at Loyalhanna Gorge Recreation Area will be permitted on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14. No camping will be permitted at any other time. RV campers are not permitted at Loyalhanna Gorge.
Fishermen are also reminded that private boats are not permitted at Twin Lakes Park. There is a concession on the lower lake that offers pedal boats and row boats for rental throughout the fishing season.
Private boats are also not permitted at Mammoth and Northmoreland Parks until May 1st. Beginning on May 1st, non-motorized canoes and kayaks are permitted at Mammoth and Northmoreland Parks. Please check the Parks website for rules and regulations.
Boats propelled by battery-powered electric motors and non-mechanically propelled boats up to 14 feet are permitted at both Chestnut Ridge and Bridgeport Dam County Parks. Please check the Parks website for rules and regulations.
