Register online at http://www.co.westmoreland.pa.us/MFP to come to the Twin Lakes or Murrysville March and show your support for Westmoreland County Parks and Trails! Both Marches will be held on Saturday, March 24. We are fundraising for some great projects, such as a boundless playground & winter sports area at Cedar Creek, new pavilion and playground at Northmoreland Park, upgrades to the Giant Slide and a new disc golf course at Mammoth Park, and construction of the final 3.4 miles of the Turtle Creek Extension to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail. Get your family, friends, and co-workers together, collect donations to turn in and march for your school, your business, your club, or in memory of a loved one. Register and donate online now!
Participants collect donations before the March, either individually or as a member of a team of three or more. Many people form teams by organizing friends and family, school/sport/work or community groups, or in memory of a loved one. There is friendly competition for recognition as a top fundraising team. Donations may be mailed in, or collected on the morning of the March. You may also donate online with your registration!
Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. There will be activities for adults and children all morning, an optional outdoor walk at 10:30, and the event ends around noon. Bike riders are invited to ride the Westmoreland Heritage Trail to support the March (weather permitting). We ask that they park at a trail head and ride to the Community Center. There will also be activities for everyone to enjoy all morning!
Form a team, join a team, or come on your own! The March for Parks is a special event hosted by the Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Citizens Advisory Board and is sponsored in-part by Patrick and Lynn Gurrentz, Tribune Review, Labor United Celebration, Inc., and UPMC Health Plan.
