A special thank you to Adam Garrity, Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau program Specialist, who had vision to transform a family court waiting room into a child-friendly comfort room to occupy children and ease their minds while they wait for court.
A special thank you to Adam Garrity, a program Specialist for Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau, who had the vision to transform the family court waiting room into a child-friendly comfort room to occupy the children and ease their minds while they wait for court.
It was a community collaborative effort with the assistance of our advisory board (Westmoreland Children First), receiving a $4000 grant through the Community Foundation of Westmoreland. Students from the Westmoreland Community College Art Department painted the murals. Lyndsay Winfield, a senior at Jeannette High School, dedicated her senior project to the comfort room, with the assistance of Abby DeBlasio, they received over 400 donated items for the room.
A Special thanks to our Board of Commissioners, Judges, Hearing Officer and court staff who played a role in making this happen.
We are so thankful to be a part of a community that cares about improving the lives of children and their families.
Thank you all for a job well done!
