There's lots of winter fun in your Westmoreland County parks and trails!
Our County parks and trails are open year-round for hiking, sledding, and cross-country skiing. Park hours are 9:00 a.m. to dusk daily.
- Twin Lakes Park and Cedar Creek Park offer winter sports areas for sledding and tubing. Bring your own sleds and take a ride down three runs of varying speeds! There is no lift back to the top and riders must walk back to the top. Click here to view more information for the Twin Lakes Park Winter Sports Area.
- Rent cross-country skis for the whole family at the Twin Lakes Park Boathouse, located along the lower lake. The Boathouse carries ski boots to fit all sizes - from Youth 12 to Adult 13.5! All skis are rented first come, first serve. Cross-country skiing is available weather permitting. Please call the Boathouse at 724-832-7735 for hours, ice conditions, rental rates, and more information.
- Ice Fishing is permitted at Twin Lakes, Mammoth, and Northmoreland Parks. Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation does not monitor ice conditions; please view the County Ordinance on ice fishing here (Section VI, Item Y).
