Murrysville Miracle Field
Recruiting Players and Volunteers
{Murrysville, PA} No matter your age or physical challenge, the Miracle Field at the Murrysville Community Park has a roster spot for you! The Inaugural Full Season of the Miracle Field located in the park on Wiestertown Road in Murrysville, kicks off May 18 with media day and opening day games. Festivities begin at 9:00 am and the first pitch will be thrown by King’s Frownie at 9:30 am. Games will be played at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
“We’re excited about this first full spring season of baseball at the Bill Mazeroski Miracle Field,” said Board Chair Rev. Harold Hicks. “This is the culmination of many people’s efforts and we look forward to the first pitch this spring!”
Players and their parents can get all the information they need at www.MiracleLeageWPA.org. Players can register online any time or come to the Miracle Field on May 18.
Hicks and the Miracle Field board are also asking for volunteers and sponsors to get involved.
“This is a community effort,” said Hicks. “We need volunteers, sponsors, and fans. The purpose of this field is for everyone to have their place to be a part of it.”
The Miracle Field will train volunteers who are interested in participating. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. The newest Western Pennsylvania Miracle Field serves Westmoreland and surrounding counties from its beautiful location in Murrysville Community Park. The dream of George O’Donnell brought to reality by the Murrysville - Export Rotary Club and other volunteers and sponsors, our mission is to facilitate the enjoyment of sports for all players, no matter their physical challenges. The Miracle Field currently features an accessible, safe baseball field for children and adults with disabilities, and a 5% grade walking path. Future plans include other sports including soccer, basketball and net games.
