[ARCHIVED] Ligonier Salvation Army Back to School sign-ups scheduled Aug. 7-11

The Ligonier Salvation Army has scheduled sign-ups for the 2017 Back to School Program Monday through Friday, Aug. 7, through Aug. 11, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Spokeswoman Joyce Hines said the Back to School Program assists in providing school clothing/shoes for children in grades K through 12. Unemployed or underemployed families will be able to complete applications at the Ligonier Salvation Army Service Center, located on Route 271 directly in front of Bethlen Printing, Ligonier Township.

The locations and ZIP codes of eligible families are: 15923, Bolivar; 15628, Donegal; 15646, Jones Mills; 15658, Ligonier; 15677, Rector; 15944, New Florence, and 15687, Stahlstown.

Hines noted,, “Applicants must bring current proof of all income, a copy of a current utility bill as proof of residence (actual address, not P.O. Box), and a photo ID. For further information, please call 724-238-8654.

“If qualified, each family will receive a voucher redeemable at the Big Kmart located at Mountain Laurel Plaza in Unity Township. The vouchers will be available on Monday, Aug. 14, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. All vouchers must be picked up on this date or they will be forfeited.”
