[ARCHIVED] Register for the Five Star Trail Poker Run on July 21!

Poker Run 2017 3s

The 19th annual Five Star Trail Poker Run will be held on Saturday, July 21 starting at Lynch Field in Greensburg. Registration begins at 8:00am and the event will start at 9:00am. The registration fee is fifteen dollars for participants who pre-register before July 6; on-site registration costs twenty dollars.

The Poker Run is not a race, nor do you need to know how to play poker; it is two fun events in one! Participants can choose a four-mile walk or a twelve-mile bike ride; this is not a race to see who finishes first. Those participating will choose a playing card from a deck of cards at each of five checkpoints along the trail. Upon finishing the event, each participant will have assembled a full poker hand. The top three poker hands will receive a trophy and a special prize package. The Poker Run also features a giant door prize giveaway after the event, tasty snacks for sale, a 50/50 drawing, and more! Take a chance to win a Schwinn bike donated by The Bicycle Shop, Youngwood, PA; tickets will be available for sale at the event.

The Westmoreland Heritage Trail Chapter has partnered again with the Five Star Trail Chapter to put on the Poker Run, and all proceeds from this event will benefit the two trail chapters. Participants can choose which trail group they would like their entry fees to be credited towards. To receive a registration form, please call the Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation at 724-830-3950 or visit www.co.westmoreland.pa.us/parks.

Business sponsorships are also available at various levels including: Platinum Event Sponsor for $500, Gold Community Business Sponsor for $300, Silver Trailside Table Sponsor for $150, Bronze Trailside Sign Sponsor for $100, and Prize Sponsor. Please call (724) 830-3959 if you are interested in being an event sponsor. Thank you to last year’s patrons and sponsors: Bill and Barb Botti, Classic Car Wash, Hufftown All Stars, Mike and Valerie Lambert, Pace Analytical, Design 3 Architecture, Farzati Manufacturing Corporation, Nature’s Way Market, Jackie and Jim Timko, and The Bicycle Shop, Youngwood, PA.
