Donating To Pennsylvania’s Veterans Memorial Is An Ideal Way To Pay Tribute To Those Who Served During The Memorial Day Holiday: 

The Memorial Day holiday is a yearly reminder that the Pennsylvania Veterans’ Memorial located at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA (Lebanon County), stands in lasting tribute to those who served our state and nation in times of war and peace and it is the largest veteran’s memorial located in any of the national cemeteries. Campaign Urging Pittsburgh Employers To Hire Vets:

Hospice Of Central Pennsylvania Seeks Military Veteran Volunteers: 

Hospice of Central Pennsylvania is looking for military veterans to volunteer for a program to support veteran patients. The Vet-to-Vet Visitation program pairs volunteers with military veteran hospice patients. Read more.

National Guard Association Sets Benefit Education Event: 

All through adulthood we accumulate documents. For those who leave the military, that includes DD Form 214 - discharge papers that detail what a service member did and when they served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard or Merchant Marines. Read more.

Restored Vietnam Huey Headlines Helicopter Museum’s Fatherfest: 

The Vietnam War was known as “The Helicopter War” due to the versatility of rotary wing craft during the conflict. The Bell UH-1 Iroquois “Huey” became the war’s symbol as it effortlessly rescued, deployed, transported, supplied and supported the troops. Read more.

Volunteer Transportation Network: 

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA (Luzerne County), has partnered with the Disabled American Veterans to combat some common life stressors that often times get in the way of a veteran’s ability to receive their VA care. Read more.

 Across the Nation 

American Heroes Charity Challenge: 

Farmer Veteran Coalition was recently invited by the Craig Newmark Philanthropic Fund to compete in the American Heroes Charity Challenge. This competition, which goes through July 6, is among nonprofit organizations that support veterans and first responders for a chance to win the $15,000 top prize. While a little friendly competition among nonprofits is fun, more important are the funds raised to assist more farmer veterans around the country and provide them with critical items, such as livestock, used tractors and greenhouses, as they launch their farming operations. New VA Online Tool Helps Veterans Learn About And Compare Effective PTSD Treatments: 

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched a new online tool this week that will help veterans compare various treatment options for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Read more.

Dental Care Day Of Service For Veterans: 

Dentists and teams with Aspen Dental practices are pleased to bring free dental care to veterans nationwide on June 24, 2017. Governor Wolf Announces Frank Recruitment Group To Establish New Regional Headquarters In Philadelphia, Creation Of 250 Jobs:

Governor Tom Wolf today visited the Philly Shipyard Apprentice Training Academy and shipbuilding facility in Philadelphia as part of his Jobs That Pay tour. The Philly Shipyard has had a formal apprenticeship program since 2004 and opened its training academy in 2016. Read more.

On Veterans Day 1996, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund unveiled a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. Since its dedication, The Wall That Heals has visited more than 400 cities and towns throughout the nation, spreading the memorial’s healing legacy to millions.
