(Editor’s Note from the Latrobe Bulletin : Master Sgt. Brandon Nicely, who is a native of Derry Township and graduated from Derry Area High School in 2000, where he ran track and cross-country, left to join the U.S. Air Force when he was 18, a couple of weeks after graduating from high school. He currently lives in Pápa, Hungary, with his wife, Ekaterina, who is originally from Kaluga, Russia, and his children Trestin, 12, Miah, 9, and Thomas, 1. Brandon’s parents, James and Lucinda Nicely, still live in the local area, and he has three siblings, Aaron of West Mifflin, and Jarrett and Emily, both of Latrobe. Brandon earned his master’s degree in executive leadership from Liberty University in 2016.
