HARRISBURG -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court Office of the Prothonotary is warning people about a telephone scam being used to get money or personal information.

The scam begins when the caller ID indicates the incoming call is coming from the PA Courts — (717) 781-6181. That is the prothonotary’s number, however, the identification is being used by scammers. The fraudulent callers may ask for money or personal information.

If you receive this type of call, hang up or let it go to voicemail. Do not give out any personal information. The Supreme Court would never request any personal or identifying information over the phone.
