[ARCHIVED] Come to Northmoreland Park for a Free Fishing Derby on May 21!

The Northmoreland Park free Fishing Derby is open to all ages on Sunday, May 21

A free fishing derby will be held on Sunday, May 21 at Northmoreland Park from 8:00am to 1:00pm. This event is sponsored by the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation, the Westmoreland County Sportsmen’s League, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Registration is free for all ages and begins at the Activity Center at 7:15am. Adults age 16 and over must display a valid 2017 Pennsylvania Fishing License. There will be a door prize drawing for all registered participants following the derby. All contestants must be registered by 12:00 noon to be eligible for prizes from Dick’s Sporting Goods.

First and second place trophies will be awarded for longest trout, longest carp, and longest other fish of legal size in both adult and youth divisions. A trophy and prizes donated by the Westmoreland County Sportsman’s League will also be awarded for the best “Catch of the Day” in both adult and youth categories.
