[ARCHIVED] Calling all musicians for the Battle of the Bands!

The Brian T. Rusnock Amphitheater at the Twin Lakes Park Expansion will host a Battle of the Bands contest on Saturday, June 10, 2017, starting at 1:00 p.m. The intent is to provide an opportunity for up-and-coming bands to perform on a big stage and at a great venue. Prizes will be awarded and the first place band will be the opening act for The Hawkeyes band on July 15!

Each band will be allowed 15 minutes for set-up and no more than 30 minutes for performance. Music is the band’s choice and there is no limit to the number of songs performed, but time is limited. Bands will be assigned a start time if their application is accepted. Sound services will be provided, as well as a professional quality drum kit and power for the band’s guitar amps and equipment. Bands will be judged on originality, musicianship, showmanship, audience response, band dynamic, and overall performance.

Each band must submit a link to their music or a recording/video when applying. CDs, DVDs and MP3s are also acceptable. Completed applications must be submitted to the Parks and Recreation Office, 194 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, PA 15601 by April 28th, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. If your band is selected, a $25 non-refundable entry fee is payable to Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation upon notification.

To access the Brian T. Rusnock Amphitheater, follow Donohoe Road from the traffic light at Westmoreland Mall. At the four way stop, turn left on to George’s Station Rd. After crossing the railroad tracks, turn right onto Streetpark Loop.
