VAPHS has announced the project to improve the main entryway of their University Drive location – the Parking Garage First Floor Level connecting to the Main Lobby – will begin on Thursday, March 23 and last several months. Construction will require rare and brief closures of this throughway.
The project will remove and replace the revolving doors. When complete, the new entryway will provide a more welcoming experience and improved flow of pedestrian traffic in that area.

Phase I Construction Begins (30 days): Entrance will be modified and a construction wall will be placed.
During the above time periods, employees, Veterans and visitors must use the Ground Floor (one level below the first floor) to enter and exit the main hospital. Wayfinding and informational signage will be placed in key areas, including the parking garage vestibules, hospital lobby and elevators.
Ambulance drivers transporting non-emergent patients will use the Emergency Department during closures.
