Effective January 2016 pursuant to the Pennsylvania Act 54 of 2015, Westmoreland County citizens summoned for jury duty can request to be excused and will be exempted from service if the individual is:

1. 75 years of age or older, or
2. A judge, magisterial district judge of the Commonwealth and judges of the United States as
defined in 28 U.S.C.§451, or
3. A breastfeeding woman.

These exemptions are in addition to the exemptions currently identified on the Westmoreland County Juror qualification questionnaire and summons.
