The PFSVI Act allows an adult individual or emancipated minor, who as been subject to sexual violence, to petition for a protective order. The Act also provides that any parent, adult household member, or guardian may petition for an order on behalf of a minor who has been subjected to sexual violence or intimidation. The procedure for the PFSVI Act mirrors that of the Protection from Abuse (PFA) Act. Individuals wishing to petition the court for protection under the new PFSVI act should report to the Protection from Abuse Office at the Westmoreland County Courthouse. The PFA Coordinator will assist those qualifying individuals in completing the required paperwork.
