[ARCHIVED] Mammoth and Northmoreland Park lakes are now open to canoeing and kayaking

The Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation has opened Mammoth and Northmoreland Park lakes to recreational kayaking and canoeing from May 1 through October 31,
7:00 am to dusk each year. No special permit is required by the Westmoreland County Bureau of
Parks and Recreation. Kayaks and canoes must be properly registered with the PA Fish and Boat
Commission.

Only canoes and kayaks up to 16 feet in length are permitted on the lakes. No motors of any kind
are permitted. All kayaks and canoes must be launched and removed at the designated launch site.

All PA Fish and Boat Commission rules and regulations must be strictly followed at all times. All
County Park ordinances apply. For more information, please call the Bureau of Parks and
