The Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, February 19, at 6:30 pm to discuss plans for a dog park and other potential facilities at Cedar Creek County Park in Rostraver Township. The meeting will take place at the Rostraver Township Municipal Building, located at 201 Municipal Drive, Belle Vernon, near the entrance to Cedar Creek Park.
The purposes of the meeting are two-fold. The first is to evaluate both need and residents’ desire for a new dog park and other potential new facilities at Cedar Creek Park. The second is to seek input from potential users regarding the design and layout of the proposed dog park that is being considered as a possible addition to Cedar Creek Park. Potential rules of operation for the dog park will be reviewed as will plans for the upcoming 2015 March for Parks, a fundraising event that focuses on funding new park and trail facilities in Westmoreland County.
At this year’s March for Parks, hosted at Cedar Creek on Saturday, March 28, we are showcasing our proposed Cedar Creek Dog Park. In support of the dog park and to help fund it we are encouraging dogs and dog owners to enter the March.
