The Court has approved new local Rule of Judicial Administration WJ6000.1 – Court Appointed Counsel that governs the procedures and payment for all attorneys who serve as court appointed attorneys.

The guidelines for court appointed counsel have been updated consistent with the new rule. Attorneys who serve as court appointed counsel are asked to familiarize themselves with the new rule and updated guidelines. The rule and guidelines will be effective in seventy (70) days which is after publication in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. This timeframe will provide attorneys with an opportunity to become compliant with the rule and guidelines. After the 70 days, submission of bills that do not conform with the Rule will not be approved. Any questions regarding the new Rule and guidelines should be directed to the Court Administrator’s office.
