Jury Trials

Jury trials are scheduled for one week each month. Trial lists are prepared by the Court Administrator.

Four criminal court judges hear trials. All cases are scheduled for a criminal call of the trial list the week prior to the trial term. One judge presides over the criminal call the purpose of which is to determine the trial readiness of the case, dispose of cases through pleas, accelerated rehabilitative dispositions, probation without verdict, etc., and to handle requests for continuance of trials. After the criminal call of the list, cases are assigned to a judge for trial during the following week.
