Social Security

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) assures a minimum monthly income to needy persons with limited income and resources. Must be 65 years old or older or blind or disabled. Contact Social Security for more information, 1-800-772-1213 or www.ssa.gov.
Dollar Energy Financial assistance with heating bills. Must have applied for energy assistance within the past year and made a sincere effort to make a payment on a utility bill within the past six months. For information, call 1-800-222-8848.
Telephone Discounts Lifeline and Link-Up provide individuals with low income discount programs on basic monthly services for their phone. Link-Up America offers a 50% reduction in the cost of the connection charge. If you are interested, call 1-800-660-2215, Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm.
