How You Can Help

Provide a Resource Home

You can offer family care for a child when his or her own family cannot provide a safe and sheltering environment. This arrangement may be temporary or for an extended period, generally without the aim of adoption.

The primary goal of WCCB is to preserve and strengthen a child's own home. While a child is in your care, a caseworker visits the birth parents and helps them to overcome their situation so they can provide a safe home to which the child can return.

If securing a permanent, safe home with the child's biological family is not a viable solution, only then do we work to free the child legally for adoption. If you are willing to make a long term commitment to a child who is in your care and who becomes available for adoption, you will most likely be given first consideration for adoptive placement.
