Register of Wills

The Register of Wills office is the filing and docketing office for the Orphans’ Court division. The office is located on the third floor, in the Courthouse Annex. The office has all the Westmoreland County approved forms for estates, guardianships and terminations / adoptions.

The Register of Wills provides quality service, remains fiscally efficient, and is responsive to the public to provide an efficient, productive service.

The birth records for Westmoreland County Register of Wills are from 1893 to 1905 (there is an incomplete set of birth, death and marriage records from 1852 to 1855). Records after 1905 are located at the Department of Vital Records in New Castle, PA. These records are state-wide.

Send an email for additional information on birth or death records prior to 1906, as well as questions regarding wills or marriage licenses.
