On January 10, 2023 the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety held a Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) Tabletop Exercise entitled "Operation Bold Leap" at the Regional Special Operations Center in Latrobe, PA. Over 30 participants joined the discussion-based exercise to review their response and recovery operations in relation to an ice storm scenario. 

The Westmoreland County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) was reviewed as the exercise focused on the implementation of the FEMA Community Lifelines.
