Domestic Relations
Beginning Tuesday, May 26th, the Domestic Relations Office will begin to open by recalling staff.  

The office will remain closed to the public for the foreseeable future. 

We will be phasing in more services as the Court reopens and the court house comes back into operation.
Hearings are being conducted by telephone and complaints for support and modification petitions can be filed online using E-services and if necessary, by telephone.

Make child and spousal support payments by mailing a check or money order made to PA SCDU to:

Include PACSES Member ID or Social Security Number on check. No starter checks will be accepted.

Juvenile Detention
Visitation is allowed for shelter and detention residents.  Only immediate family is permitted.  All visits will take place in the "screened" room.

Parks Parks & Recreation main office is closed to public. 
Effective June 5:  Park playgrounds re-open.
Pavilion rentals and organized sports reservations resume.  Please be aware the green phase does prohibit gatherings over 250 people.

Restrooms and other facilities have re-opened and trash is being collected. The boathouse at Twin Lakes Park will remain closed until the remaining furloughed park staff is recalled.

  With the prohibition of large gatherings over 250 people, it appears that we may need to cancel our remaining annual events until either the green phase ends or the prohibition is lifted. We will continue to update our site with the most current guidance. 
Park Police
Our office is closed to the public but it is manned. We have officers patrolling all county properties. Officers are following CDC guidelines and limiting face to face contact.

Register of Wills
The Register of Wills office is open to the public. Appointments will no longer be necessary to conduct business in the office.  The office will resume its extended Tuesday hours starting July 14th.

Sheriff Office is closed, issuing gun permits by appointment only, call (724) 830-3457. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday; 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

• Regular and Senior Dog Licenses can be purchased either through the mail or by using our online licensing system.  Lifetime dog licenses can only be done through the mail. Small Games and Bingo Licenses can be renewed or purchased through the mail.  Due to limited staff it may take longer than usual to receive your license.
Veterans Affairs
No in-person claim services until further notice. 
Office is open to pick up and drop off paperwork, recorded military discharges, etc. We request all visitors wear a mask, if not for your own safety, please do so for the health/safety of the veterans who visit after you.
• We are available to assist all of our normal services via phone, email, and mail.

• Call (724) 830-3530 for assistance and please leave a message if prompted.  We have very limited staffing in the office, but messages are checked regularly during business hours and forwarded to those working remotely.

The DAV van is currently still available on a limited basis for transportation to and from appointments at the VA Hospitals in Pittsburgh.
Westmoreland County Prison

Visits for attorneys will only be permitted from 8:30 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Friday
Inmates will be given one (1) free video visit per week.  The visit will last for ten (10) minutes.  Your family/friends will be able to contact GTL at to schedule the video visit.  All visitors and inmates will abide by the rules set forth for video visiting  These rules can be found on the Prison website. All face to face inmate visits have been cancelled
