On November 4, 2018, Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation celebrated the Mammoth Park Giant Slide’s 45-year history at the “Last Slide Ride” event.  This event was visitors’ last chance to ride the original Giant Slide before it closed to make way for a new slide facility, coming in 2019 (stay tuned for more updated information!).

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Last Slide Ride event on November 4! While it was sad to say goodbye to the Giant Slide, we are excited to move on and construct a facility with not one, but THREE slides of varying lengths and speeds!

The original Giant Slide has been a part of local fun for more than two generations, and enjoyed by thousands of children and adults. We shared some of their stories leading up to the “Last Slide Ride” event on November 4.
