Language Access Plan & Limited English Proficiency or Hearing Impaired Requests

It is the policy of the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas to secure the rights, constitutional and otherwise, of persons who because of a limited English proficiency or hearing impairment are unable to understand or communicate adequately in the English language when they appear in court or are involved in judicial proceedings.

Westmoreland County will provide for foreign language interpreters or assistance to hearing impaired individuals in accordance with Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Statutes. Foreign language interpreters or hearing impaired requests should be made with as much notice as possible in advance of the judicial proceeding.
