Carlos Alejandre became the Director of Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention and Shelter in 2017. Before becoming Director, Mr. Alejandre served as the Child Residential Licensing Supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS), where he was responsible for the licensure of child residential, community residential rehabilitation, and long-term structured residence facilities in Western Pennsylvania. Mr. Alejandre utilizes his experience with DHS and his extensive knowledge of the regulations to execute Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention and Shelter's mission: to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents while ensuring the protection of the community.

Mr. Alejandre received his BS in Science from Penn State University in 2006.
