Jared Squires

Background / Bio

Treasurer Jared M. Squires was elected to serve the people of Westmoreland County in November 2011. He has a Bachelors of Science in Physics from Drexel University, a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Franklin University, and a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida. The treasurer was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, spent most of his youth in Southern New Jersey, but moved to Westmoreland County in 2003, where he lives with his wife and three children.


The treasurer’s office is responsible for the collection and disbursement of county funds. The treasurer also sits on the 5-member Retirement Board, which is responsible for the county employee pension plan.


The treasurer’s office issues many licenses, such as dog, hunting, fishing, antlerless, boat registration, and small games of chance.
