What is Early Intervention?

All children grow and learn at different rates. Children who are developing more slowly than typical children may be eligible for Early Intervention services and supports. The Westmoreland County Early Intervention Program provides support and services to families with children from birth to age three with developmental delays or disabilities.

Early Intervention (EI) builds upon the natural learning that occurs in a child’s first few years and the natural learning opportunities that occur within the daily routines of a child and their family.
