The Westmoreland County Prision maintains custody and control of inmates as mandated by law, including those prisoners held in custody, pending disposition of their respective cases by the courts and those persons already convicted of a criminal act and sentenced to a period of incarceration. The WCP is responsible for the safe keeping, care and custody of all its inmates.

The PA SAVIN system is a service through which victims
crime can use the phone or Internet to search for information
regarding the custody status of their offender and to register
to receive phone and/or email notification when the offender's custody status changes. The VINE toll-free number for the
PA SAVIN system is 1-866-972-7284. This service is provided
to assist Victims of Crime who have a right to know about their
offender's custody status.

- Policy for Inmate Clothing -
Be advised as of May 29, 2005 that all bras, tee shirts, underwear, and socks must be purchased through the prison's commissary company.
- Policy for Inmate Visitors -
Please be advised that effective Monday, October 4, 2004, the Westmoreland County Prison will no longer permit the use of any tobacco products and associated devices on Prison Property.
Such items in your possession must be secured in your personal vehicle upon entry to the Westmoreland County Prison grounds/property.
Non-compliance with this policy will result in visitation termination and the loss of future visitation privileges.
